New Moon in Cancer

This week’s new moon in Cancer points to family or what we consider “family” in our lives. With any new moon there is an opportunity to release old stuff and plant the seeds for something new. This new moon asks us to strongly reconsider those we call “family” and assess if this “family” really provides the emotional support that we deserve.

Do the current people in our lives make us feel safe, validated and nourished emotionally? Are we looking for support from blood relations that never really had our backs? Uranus (the planet of liberation) is making a very supportive aspect to this new moon, signifying the need to rethink and reframe what we consider “family” in our lives. Use this time to break free from old habits of looking to certain family members for approval or recognition when it just isn’t there.

During this new moon, Pluto (the planet of total transformation) is opposing the moon signally that a total makeover might be in order. Neptune (the planet of transcendence) is also giving us the permission to let go of any old ties with love and forgiveness. You may not know what this new “family” will look like, but I’m sure you have an idea. Maybe it’s a group of great friends, a community or tribe.

The end result of this process is establishing a new soul family (and this could include blood family) that supports your authentic path. In the coming weeks there could be work involved in establishing these new boundaries, but if done right, it can be pivotal to your growth. You are worthy and deserve a great family that is worthy of you!

Full Moon in Capricorn

The full moon is a time of culmination and illumination. It a powerful time when we bask in the light of the moon and can feel a sense of enlightenment. What comes to light has been in the works since the new moon in Gemini on June 10th. What has your mind been busy processing since then?

Since that time, mercury has also been retrograding and we’ve been looking within for many answers. It’s been a super introspective time, to say the least, but a necessary one. But alas this week, answers are starting to file in as mercury goes direct just days before the full moon. Thursday these answers seem to crescendo as we start to understand more and more what we’ve been processing over the last couple of weeks. Be ready to take note of revelations and see what comes to light that may have been hidden before!

In the sign of Capricorn, this full moon emphasizes finding your inner authority. It’s about taking responsibility for thoughts, actions, and attitudes in a way that will empower you and give you lasting security. Remember that whenever there is a full moon, the sun is always in the opposite sign, in this case in Cancer. Both Cancer and Capricorn emphasize security, emotional and material security respectively. How are you building a more secure world for yourself that will ultimately lead to true independence?

Jupiter, the planet of luck, makes a very nice aspect to the full moon giving you support to take the leap of faith as you move to do “the work”. Some effort and releasing of old worn-out paradigms may very well be part of the picture, but it’s well worth it. Come into your power by owning your situation and you’re sure to reap the benefits of a new happier, more sustainable you. Capricorn energy is all about taking time to build something of excellence that will last. This may take some time, but all good, worthwhile things do.
