Full Moon in Cancer, Friday January 6th, 6:08pm ET

Happy New Year! We’ve made it to 2023 and the first week in January starts off with an exciting full moon in Cancer, the sign of home and tribe. It’s Capricorn season which is all about work, but with a Cancer moon it’s about balancing public life (Capricorn) and private/family life (Cancer). How are you doing in this area?

Mercury is still retrograde during the full moon, asking us to seriously consider the work/life balance we are creating or not creating. Have you become a workaholic and you’re not tending to the domestic scene, or have you become too much of a homebody and are not getting out into public life to find your way? This full moon event highlights this polarity asking us to think of new ways to balance our lives as we dive into the new year. Be willing to do the work now before we get to far down the road.

Venus just moved into Aquarius this week and Aquarius holds the key to how we might go about doing this. Aquarius is all about innovation and breaking the mold. Are you willing to try something seemingly random and different to break out of your old ways? It’s worth the effort during this time.

With Mercury and Mars still in retrograde until the coming weeks, it’s ok to sit with these ideas for now, but start making plans, as by the end of the month, action will be the name of the game.

And by the way, it’s ok if you feel very naked and vulnerable in this process of balancing your life. Chiron in Aries, prompts us to be our own hero even if we don’t quite believe in ourselves. Just being willing to show up and do the work is important at this time. Lean into your vulnerability and address any gaps in your emotional and material wellbeing, so that you can launch into 2023 with a real sense of security and solidness.

Happy Full Moon!

Full Moon in Leo, Sunday February 5th, 1:28pm ET

The full moon this Sunday in Leo will definitely add flair to the cosmic dance. Aquarius season is well underway and like Aquarius, Leo strives to honor its uniqueness in the crowd. It’s about being seen as special for something that we do. This full moon is at 16 degrees of Leo, so find out where that might be in your chart to see where you might be looking to stand out.

During this full moon Uranus squares both the Sun and moon.  This square creates tension and will have us seeing any remote attempt to restrict our personal freedom as a major threat. This is a very erratic energy and not all that stable. If we’ve been feeling boxed in, then this is an opportunity to find our way into our freedom, but doing it carefully might be tricky. Tread lightly.

There is something about this full moon that is asking us to be more authentic, but how we go about it might be unclear. One thing is clear– it likely won’t be in the same way we’ve been trying. The energy present is asking us to do things in some radically different ways.

The exciting part of this full moon energy is that it gives us the opportunity to truly reinvent ourselves. We all look to do this in a new year, but since we started the new year with 3 retrograde planets (Mars, Mercury and Uranus) it wasn’t easy to start. We’re now ready.

Aiding us in our efforts is Mars making positive aspects to the Sun and moon giving us motivation to move on new spontaneous insights. Thinking will be intense and electric with Uranus making a trine to Mercury.

Main takeaway: Let this full moon energy stir and awaken a new you, but understand that there will be an adjustment period in the weeks to come to integrate this new exciting you into your current reality.

Happy Full Moon!

New Moon in Aquarius, Saturday January 21st, 3:53pm ET

The week is active with many changes underway. Mercury finally comes out of its retrograde period and a couple of days later the sun enters Aquarius, followed a day later by the new moon in Aquarius. Then on Sunday Uranus, the planet connected with Aquarius finally goes direct after having been retrograde since last summer. Exciting stuff!

Aquarius is breakaway energy, and it builds on the foundations of what Capricorn energy has built, innovating what is in place or shattering what is in place to put it together in a new way. Whereas Capricorn is a bit of a loner and works on things best alone, Aquarius is all about the team and working within a collective of like-minded people. Not just any ole group of people, but like-minded.

This new moon encourages us to start afresh and look at areas in our life where we can innovate, breakaway from, or use the collective energy of the team to help us reach our goals. Saturn is conjunct Venus in Aquarius during the new moon, further emphasizing that we get serious about Aquarius themes – honoring our individuality within a larger team.

If you haven’t done the work to figure out what you bring to the table in all your uniqueness (on your own) it’s best to do that work first before you become part of a larger effort. Find your strengths and uniqueness first and then find and organization where you can contribute accordingly.

Jupiter in Aries asks us to honor ourselves, and that is where we will get the most benefit until it enters Taurus in May. Like Aquarius, Aries honors its uniqueness (although in a bit of a different way). You may have to do some self-discovery before you do something amazing for the greater good, but it’s worth getting this right first.

Happy New Moon!

New Moon in Leo, Thursday July 28th, 1:55 pm ET

Leo season is here giving us permission to be bold, authentic and maybe even a little full of ourselves.  Leo is a fire sign and with the new moon in Leo, it’s time to rekindle those areas of your life where things have become dull. Where can you add a bit more pizzazz to your life to awaken the playful side of you? Jupiter in Aries (another fire sign) is pushing us to get out there a bit more in this regard as well.

It’s time to get serious about fun and rediscovering our true sense of self and this is underscored by Pluto opposing the sun and moon during the new moon. It’s time for transforming that outdated sense of self and donning a new you.

There’s lots of emphasis on the nodes during the new moon which can cause some strain. Mars and Uranus conjunct the north node that is in Taurus and squares mercury in Leo and Saturn in Aquarius. This is fixed energy and it doesn’t like to budge when asked to negotiate, but this will be key to success. See how you can integrate your values (Taurus) with your unique voice (Mercury in Leo), while also honoring the collective (Saturn in Aquarius).

Another square during the time of the new moon is Venus in Cancer squaring Chiron and Jupiter in Aries. Aries energy is asking us to look out for ourselves first, but the Cancer energy is causing us to likely hesitate some as we work to integrate things into our sense of value for our tribe.

As with any new moon, it is a time for new beginnings. The tension of the squares may make it a bit tough to navigate, but at the same time it will help us to focus and be deliberate about our choices. Use this time to reconnect with your inner child and see how you can grow it over the coming weeks.

Happy New Moon!

Full Moon in Taurus 2021

November 19th, 3:57 am ET
Full moons are always powerful, but this week’s full moon in Taurus has a special intensity as it’s a partial lunar eclipse. This is part of the last set of eclipses for 2021. The full moon also falls at the tail end of Scorpio season, a time of deep transformation.
With the Sun in Scorpio and the full moon in Taurus, we get a glimpse into what change we will see in December when the nodes of the moon change from Gemini and Sagittarius to Taurus and Scorpio. The Scorpio/Taurus axis is all about physical vs. psychological and the difference between what is mine alone and what I share with someone else.
Whereas Scorpio can be super deep and transformative, Taurus energy is very simplistic and grounding. Taurus resonates with Mother Earth and the 5 senses. There is a sense of practicality in the Taurus moon too that helps to anchor our spiritual selves in the physical plane.
We have a lot of active aspects during this full moon as well. Mercury in Scorpio is conjunct the Sun. Secret messages and downloads will likely surface. Lots of synergies are in the chart too with Pluto and Neptune making very supportive aspects. There’s a theme of transcendence and transformation that is ripe and ready for us if we are open to it.
The ongoing theme of the fixed squares between Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio continues as Jupiter squares the Sun and Moon during this event. Squares create tension for change and with Jupiter in the mix, it might be pushing us to expand without going overboard. It’s a great chance to balance the need for your individuality (Aquarius) with your physical (Taurus) and psychological (Scorpio) needs. Embody the full you!
Happy Full Moon!!
